Be Steadfast & Unmovable

Did you know that life could beat you down? Would you believe me if I told you that much of what you feel in terms of "defeat" could be an illusion? That many times it's just implanted visions and thoughts of what the enemy wants you to see. Ultimately, you unknowingly buy into his illusionary tricks of doubt and defeat.

Growing up I was a very tiny girl and when I say tiny, I mean what others would call very very "skinny". I was 5'2 and weighed 90lbs soaking wet and each time I looked at myself, I saw an unattractive figure. I mean, don't get me wrong, I always thought I was cute but way too thin for societies standards at the time. I was body shamed a lot, not just by young boys but girls as well, specifically the ones who had large hips, buttocks and thighs. Junior High and High School was not easy for me in those areas. Most times I felt like I needed more, so I started stuffing my clothes to make myself appear bigger. Big mistake! Why? Because the enemy had my mind so clouded and focused on my body type when there was so much more in me to offer. I had so many other things going for me. Not only was I cute, but I was also super-duper talented, I mean...I sang, did radio commercial voiceovers, high school video news, I acted (and won competitions) and get this... I even modeled and was excellent at it! However, even with all of this, my focus, many times was on how "skinny" I was.

But that's exactly what the enemy does, he comes to steal, kill and destroy. He wants to kill what God has planted on the inside of you, he wants to steal your thoughts, your soul and destroy any positive viewpoint you may have about yourself. He wants to leave you mentally and spiritually dry and destitute. He has absolutely nothing good in store for you. The great thing about it though, he has absolutely no power!

The word of God says, "Behold I have given YOU power...over all the power of the enemy and nothing by any means shall harm you". So, this means, no matter what negative illusions he tries to plant in your head about who you are, who God made you to be, what you're capable of and what your giftings are... you don't have to accept it! You have power!

The next time illusions of defeat appear, begin to command your atmosphere, first by ejecting the enemy out of your mind, then begin to speak positive biblical affirmations over yourself. I.e.: "I am the head and not the tail", "I am above and not beneath", I am sufficient enough in God", "I am fearfully and wonderfully made", "No weapon formed against me shall prosper", "I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me" and etc. Always remember that you have the power and that everything about you that God has created is more than enough. Change the way you think and what you allow into your mind and as long as you remain " steadfast, unmovable and always abounding in the works of the Lord", you will be alright! Be blessed.
